PermianLide is committed to conducting business in a manner that promotes safe work practices and environmental stewardship. This commitment is demonstrated by both employing dedicated EHS personnel and allocating the resources necessary to establish and maintain effective administration, education and training programs, and processes.
ADMINISTRATIONAll levels of management are active in promoting our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) goals. The following activities are conducted in order to support this commitment:
Individual site managers/supervisors are required to conduct frequent audits of work areas in order to ensure compliance with company rules and governmental regulations.
MONTHLY CORPORATE SITE REVIEWSFindings from site "walk-arounds", near misses, and property and injury incidents are reviewed by plant management and corrective measures are presented to top management.
MONTHLY EHS STEERING COMMITTEE MEETINGSCorporate management, site management, and field personnel meet monthly to review incidents, trends, precursors, and rule changes in order to develop necessary improvement measures and implementation strategies.
CORPORATE SAFETY ALERTSIncidents occurring at PermianLide facilities or non-company locations are communicated to personnel at all levels of the organization in order to present causal factors and expected corrective measures.
SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL AUDITSAudits are conducted by the EHS Director, safety coordinators, consultants, and insurance carriers on a regular periodic basis. Audits cover physical hazards, behavioral observations, and program/procedure implementation effectiveness. Findings from such audits are addressed through the implementation of appropriate corrective/preventative actions.
Every employee is provided with several levels of training. Initially, all employees are given instruction on general hazard recognition as well as company policies and procedures related to EHS issues through the use of an in-house developed EHS Orientation Video and Handbook. After this initial instruction, employees are given job specific training that covers items such as PPE, chemical hazards, emergency procedures, and machine/tool safety directly related to their job. Frequent safety meetings (ranging from daily to monthly) are also provided. Topics covered range from general awareness to specific safety and environmental topics.
